View Full Version : View Source Problem

I'm thinking about taking advantage of some free web-space given to me by my cable internet provider. I remember I used to look under VIEW SOURCE to see the typed command lines that make up a web page. Now when I try to View Source, it just sends me to a listing of what's in my C: drive. What's up with that?

because until (and even after) you publish it to a URL that's where it is!
until you upload it to a web server (folder)

Actually, the page I wanted to view wasn't mine.. it was another well designed web page. Does that make sense? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

When I click VIEW SOURCE on this page, I again get a listing of what's in my C Drive. Quite baffling to this computer illiterate.

Jericho,
What browser are you using? If it is IE, be sure you have "Standard Buttons" turned on in toolbars. Then click on the "Edit with" button, (looks like a pencil writing on a notepad).

No harm to click Reset Web Settings on IE Options Connections Tab.
Or try Repairing IE if nothing else has worked.
