Hey Pingin',
This actually should be in the How Do I forum.
But first you format with a boot floppy then install W98.
Dig around with the search feature, there's plenty of threads on it in the right forum. Look for formatting a harddrive. Start a new one there if you need further help.

If you mean "empty a hard drive, losing all data and making all space available" when you say "clean out a working hard drive", check here (http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/002289.html) and post back if the information I added to sea69's instructions isn't confusing enough. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
BTW - maybe this one, or one like it, should be added to the FAQ forum.
