I was in Aldi grocery store today and saw a PC by the name Medion. I've never heard of it and can't seem to find any info about it. I did check the components inside and saw that it has an AMD processor and has a 24 month warrenty, but, I'd still like to find out if it is worth the $500 price. It has 3GB RAM and a 640 GB HD, I can't remember the processor speed. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Which model of Medion?
It's apparently a German company. (http://www.medion.com/)
The Germans have a reputation for making quality goods.
e.g. Here's the Medion 6486 (http://www.trustedreviews.com/pcs/review/2007/08/13/Medion-6486-PC/p1).
Back in August 2007 Computeractive Magazine recommended this model as a very good buy and awarded it a 5-star rating (http://www.computeractive.co.uk/computeractive/hardware/2195051/review-medion-6486-desktop).
GOOD POINTS;
Powerful components; reasonable keyboard.
bad points:
No monitor; no software bundled;mouse not particularly good.
At that time it was sold exclusively through Tesco Direct UK superstore for around £550.
Get the full model or specs...depending on the chipset and whether or not it has a stripped down or 'retail' style mother board and what the software package is, it will be close...
