View Full Version : Im needing some help, Bigtime.

Hello everybody, im new to this board.

My problem is that im trying to hook up some standard LED cooling fans to an everyday wall outlet. I'v tried a sata/Ide adapter with the external power source, it didn't work. Then i tried a good-ol ATX Raw power source, fed dirrectly from the wall to the fans. <-No Beans there either.

So im wondering if any of you experts out there had any ideas i could try

My reason for this is that im just trying to rig up my own notebook pc cooling system. I don't like those cooling pad things because they're never the right size eh. I just wanted to try a creative aproach and make my own.

I just can't get them fans to run! haha

Any help is much appreciated!

You can use an ATX power source, but it will not power up without modifications. They are designed to power up with a momentary power switch. They can be hot wired to bypass the momentary power switch so that when the ATX power supply is turned on it would supply direct power to the LEDs.
