Can someone please take a look at my HijackThis log? I ran kaspersky and it flagged the following as a threat and I'm not sure if it is or not and how I would clean it.
not-a-virus:WebToolbar.Win32.MyWebSearch.az
Thank you for your help!
I will post this log in two parts because I overran the character limitation for my logfile.

First: Please go to add/remove programs and uninstall the MyWebSearch tool bar or any associated programs.
Second:
How to run a scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here (http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe) or Here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html)
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.[/QUOTE]
Third:
Please do the following:
Download this file - combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop (it needs to be run from the Desktop). Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you.
Note:
Do not mouseclick Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause the program to stall...
Last:
IN THE ORDER LISTED BELOW
Re-boot the system
Post the Combofix Log
Post the MBAM log
Post a new HJT log
Tell us how the system is running.

Thanks for the quick reply classicsoftware!! I could not find MyWebSearch in my add/remove programs.
Wow, all the stuff you're having me do, i must have something bad! I didn't think my system was running bad or slow. I didn't even notice i had a problem until i ran kaspersky. I ran kaspersky because my wife told me Avast flagged a Trojan.
After I did all your suggestions, it's running about the same.
Thank you so much for your help!

I just ran Kaspersky again and it's still flagging the following as a potential threat. Can someone tell me if i'm still infected after I've done all the things Classicsoftware has suggested?
this is what Kaspersky is flagging:
"not-a-virus:WebToolbar.Win32.MyWebSearch.az"
Thanks.
Start up Spybot, and go into the Options and disable TeaTimer...
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpybotSD TeaTimer] C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe
The run the items all over again.
Also, did you find MyWebSearch in Add/Remove programs? Did you uninstall it?

I did not see "MyWebSearch" in my add/remove programs. I unchecked "TeaTimer" from Search&Destroy, ran it again. It found 1 malware. It was "Smitfaud-c". I checked the fixed option with S&D then restarted my computer and ran HighJackThis.
Here is my new HiJackThis Log after I restarted my computer. Is there more i need to do?
Thanks again for your help!

wow, I just did some searching to see what "smitfaud" was and found out it's quite nasty! It hasn't directed me to buy anything and i haven't gotten the Blue Screen of Death yet. I guess we caught it in time?
Man, I keep my virus and spyware protection up to date and still got this. How can I prevent it happening again in the future?

you are probably still infected.
one finds a hidden door, and then opens up other doors to let MORE in....

And, to answer your question, you really can't. Just keep being diligent, and keep everything updated and get into the mindset "if it smells fishy.. it probably is"
And even then, you will probably still will get infected...
they (the bad guys that make the viruses) are constantly trying to make newer versions of their "hack" to stay one step ahead of the law.
Classicsoftware has yet to officially claim that you are "clean". wait for him to tell you what to do.

Please tell me the name and location of the infected file. Kaspersky is very aggressive and it may be a false positive.

smitfaud was found by S&D; I don't recall the path and i can't find a log where it would tell me. Kaspersky did not find anything except, "not-a-virus:WebToolbar.Win32.MyWebSearch.az".
I ran S&D again and smitfaud was gone. Kaspersky also ran clean. Does this mean i'm cleared?
Thanks again for your help Classicsoftware.
