Ok i have a lot of media stored on my PC and all in honestly it really slows my system down i would just like to have my PC with a 300 WD vr for games and OS then have another rig with a few TB of space on it so i can have all my media and such on that and if possible to my brother can access it aswell.

any ideas how to do this as i have no clue. would i just set up a PC and connect it to the network? or is there a more media PC way? :)

also power wise im thinking a E2200 with a G31 mobo would be fine right?

cheers for any help

Do you just want to share files? Or are you thinking more like a streaming service?

File sharing is dirt easy, even if the OS isn't Windows. Plenty of guides on how to set up a Samba share online. Free, too. And if push comes to shove, I believe streaming is a possibility, too.

If you want a streaming server with WMP hooks, that gets a bit more costly. Could be nit-picky, too, if you have any Vista systems. DRM and all that.

Cool! I'll have to try that!

"Where does all the dirt displaced by the Technodrome go?" Whoa! I've never thought about that!
