i built a desktop using the following hardware: amd athlon 64x2 2.4 duel core processor, gigabyte s series mother board, nvidia 9600 vid card, 4 gigs g skill ram, and vista home premium 64 bit version. everything works great except for when i play games, and then it crashes, and this has been happening since day one. i built this for gaming, so this is a really big deal. the 2 games i ahve installed and tried to play are call of duty 4, and company of heroes. they both act exactly the same: anywhere from 5-15 mintutes into actual gameplay, my pc crashes and reboots itself. i have formatted, reinstalled vista, reinstalled mb and vid card drivers, and i really dont know what else to do. i have tried 2 dvd rom drives, thinking one wasnt installing right, but it continues. it never crashes, other then playing these games. i am not real sure where to post this, so i posted here, considering it is only happening when gaming, so maybe its my video card...? thanks for any info! i really apprciate it!

Don't stop at motherboard and video drivers...continue on to include sound an other drivers. But it is starting to sound like a heat related problem. 5-15 minutes is just enough time to get things nice and warm.

What kind of cooling does your system have?
