I have a Dell Laptop with XP Home which developed a bad sector. It crashed but I used Spinrite to repair the disk and it stated up but windows created a User folder called TEMP in addition to the users name and moved all of her documents to it or at least duplicates. Now the desktop is C/Docs/users/temp/desktop. How do I get it back to c/docs/users/usersname/desktop. In addition how can I delete this TEMP folder which windows now calls a system file yet it is not listed in User Accounts. There is a lot of reasons that a reformat would be a big pain on this laptop.

?

Any ideas what happened?

You are on borrowed time. Spinrite repaired the damaged sector or moved the data to a different sector. You need to replace the drive, NOW. Then you can move the data from the old drive to the new drive....

I second the motion...

A new drive, clone the drive, then worry about 'fixing' things...
