Ok guys Im going to set up a dual boot for my Inspire One. this unit doesn't got CD ROM I manage to partition the HD into 2. And I was able to copy my vista installer from CD into drive D:using other machine and usb. Now since the installer was copied into D: is there any harm in running the set up and install vista on drive d: Im affraid to do it now until I got a feed back from here. I don't want to damage my XP either.

1. "I was able to copy my vista installer from CD into drive D...is there any harm in running the set up and install vista on drive d:"
I'm no super expert, especially since I only run Win2000Pro, but...
So far as I'm aware, it's ok to do that, but...
Whenever I've done this kind of thing I normally like to keep the Windows installation file set on some partition [your C:?] other than the one to which Windows is to be installed [your D:?].
I assume your D: partition is suitable for Vista, yes?

THE REASONS?
(a) If you ever need to re-format the Windows partition and re-install afresh...
The installation file set will be sitting untouched by the re-format, and can be quickly/easily used once more.

(b) If you leave the installation file set permanently in the location from which they were run [exact same address]...
During the first/original installation Windows will register the location of the installation file set, and whenever it needs a file...
Windows will fetch it in an instant, with no need to demand that the installation files be provided in the same location as the original installation [normally an optical disk in disk drive with a particular drive letter as it existed at the time of the original install]
This can prevent hassles.

Thank you for your feed back I dont actually planning to keep the installation files in d: I will delete it after intallation. Are you suggesting its better to keep the installation file in C: Im still not running the set up until I get a clear picture about this thanks

"Are you suggesting its better to keep the installation file in C:"
Yes.
And it isn't just a single file, at least not normally, it's usually a huge set of files.
Mind you I seem to remember hearing that the later versions of Windows automatically store a copy of the installation file set on the same partition to which Windows is installed.
That's not much use when you've just re-formatted the partition, in which situation all those files would be lost.
So you'd be forced to fall back on some other copy, and if you don't want to go through a repeat of the business of copying the files to C: yet again it would be a good idea to leave them there.

I just installed it I didn't move the installer file from D: it works fine and I just deleted it after installation was completed. It's about 2.3gb so I don't need to waste some space.. Only problem I got now is drivers are not available anywhere. All drivers for AspireOne is for XP any suggestion where to get it. Im not able to access net using vista due to lack of NIC drivers and WiFi drivers too.

1. "I'm not able to access net using vista"
But you CAN access the web using the XP installation, right?

2. "drivers are not available anywhere. All drivers for AspireOne is for XP any suggestion where to get it"
How about installing the FREE Unknown Device Identifier [UDI] (http://www.zhangduo.com/udi.html) within XP and using that to search for drivers for the hardware items that have no drivers in Vista.
Add the term Vista to the Google search term automatically generated by UDI.

The FREE WinAudit portable program (http://www.pxserver.com/WinAudit.htm) [as supplied as part of the FREE UBCD4Win bootable CD (http://www.ubcd4win.com/)] can scan your hardware and display details.
e.g. "Categories->Hardware Devices->Network Adapters".
