Why are there 2 pages when I create an envelope in MS Word 2000?

Here is what I did.
Click Tools>Envelopes and Lables>{select envelope size here} > Add to Document.

After I click add to document, it creates the envelope but there is also an empty page at the bottom  . I can't seem to get rid of the second page. Is this normal? is there a way to get rid of the empty page and leave the envelope?

It happens both in 2003, and 2007. I think it's because when you add a letter to a document, they expect you to add it to a letter. (what a crazy thought... I never attached the envelope to the same doc as the letter though.) I haven't found a way to remove the full page, but when I am on the envelope with the cursor, I can print just the current page to get the envelope printed

can you printing multiple envelopes each time?

I tried to print just page 1 and tried to print 3 envelopes but nothing happened.

I had to select all and print. This causes the printer to take two envelopes. The printer will print on one but nothing on the other. So if I want to print three envelopes, I will have to put 6 envelopes in the printer (which is pretty ridiculous)

I don't know about 2000, but in 2007 and I think 2003, the wizard to add the envelope, you had the option to print just the envelope, and there I have the option to print multiple.
