Hello everyone,

Its been awhile since I posted but I have been lurking around the forums reading and learning what I can.

Anyways I come here today to ask for help about a problem I am having with my Monitor.

Whenever I try to change the resolution of any game or any program past 1024x768 the screen goes black and a red blinking message reads "Out of Range" I ahve had to reinstall many games because of this because once it is changed there is no exiting. The screen just stays black and the red message continues to blink.

The Monitor is a OLEVIA 24" Multimedia LCD and functions as my TV, PC screen and XBox 360 screen. However I am only running into this problem when on the PC option.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Can it be fixed?

Yes, the message is exactly what it means...the refresh rate is out of the range of acceptable frequencies for the set...

So I cannot push the monitor to any higher resolution?

That really sucks I wanted to try and test out my GPU.

What monitor would you suggest that is reasonably priced and can handle high resolutions?

You may be able to go higher...what is the monitor's 'native resolution'?

In order to go higher, though, you will need to lock the refresh rate in at 60 Hz.

What is your video card?

You should be able to set the refresh rate and lock it into to 60 Hz, before changing the resolution...but since I don't have an ATI I'm not entirely sure how to do that...but I'd guess the option is in the Display Options...
