What do you think eht computer will be in the 2020?
Some one thought about it:

I've seen the keyboard around, I personally think the world will be going to OLEDs instead... I also don't think that Bluetooth will be around. but that may be a personal opinion...

Wristheld computers: the keybaord is a "ghost" and the monitor is a hologram that needs no flat surface.
the terabyte thing is correct though.
I think the 2020 computer would be closer to a watch.
want to bet that it's all projected and controlled by our minds? (not like the matrix, but more like just think an email and send it... There still will be need of D-pads and viewing surfaces for gaming I think, after all there is more interaction between many people on one screen then one person on many...)

A pen should be able to accept written/drawn input, no need for a keyboard. Then there's voice recognition... has that hit a wall? there don't seem to be as many voice-input machines now as progress 20 years ago would have indicated.
the problem with handwriting is that some people (not refering to myself *as I avoid eye contact...*) have horible handwriting. of course you can train it, but a keyboard would make things easier.

I suggest that you look up the NVidia Tegra if you want to see where the future of computing lies. It's a single chip the size of a dime that is capable of playing back and encoding high definition video using just over 1 watt.

Intel has added new instruction sets in it's newest architecture (to be released) that are made to greatly increase processing of voice recognition software.
It kind of dropped off the face of the plannet though... I at least have stopped hearing about it. Of course, I am not that interested in said technology anyways, but a yr or so ago, I heard about it about once a blue moon (once a month, or there abouts)

Google search for Holographic storage unit (http://www.google.com/search?q=Holographic+storage+unit&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a).
I saw one link about a 150GB unit for $18,000.
SSD's are where it's at right now and for the near future. Personally I will stick with standard drives for some time since you can now get a 1TB drive for $100 if you look for the deals.

Fascinating... Will now do some reading. I was not even aware that this has been developed.
