Hi, i am trying to build my first desktop and i was thinking of the following set up.

Motherboard- Nvidia Geforce 8300 mGPU
Processor- AMD Phenom x4 9600
Memory- Kingston 4 gb ddr2 667 Mhz pc2-5300
Hard drive- western digital caviar black 1 tb internal ata
cd/dvd drive- LG 16x internal blu ray/double layer dvd/cd
graphic card- bfg geforce 9800 gtx
sound card- not really decided yet, open for suggestion
networking card- same as sound card
power supply- need a good suggestion
additional cooling fan- don't know how many and what brand to get...

it needs a lot of work so plz give me feed back ,thanks!
P.S.- this is going to be a decent or great gaming desktop

changes to the graphic card- i am thinking of going xfx geforce 9800 gx2 as it seems more powerful.

Okay, first off, what is your budget for this rig? That will tell us were to go. I see a couple of things I'd change, but I'll wait for your budget to get to it.

well , i would like to keep it under 1.5k including a monitor and good sound system but won't mind going over a hundred or 2.

okay. . .that makes it a little tighter. . .Also, I forgot to ask, what is the purpose of this machine? Gaming? Offoce Apps? Multimedia?

I made a more detailed thread called powerful gaming pc, it have more detail. Also I have change my mind and wanted around 1.5k just for the desktop,not including monitor, keyboard, mouse, sound system, etc.
