My Prebuilt System specs are:
Intel Pentium D 3.0Ghz(Dual Core)
Intel D946GZIS Motherboard

I want to put an e8600 in it

Many motherboards in prebuilt systems are more restricted than their 'retail' counterparts. Often this is because they don't have the same BIOS updates. Two of the main reason are the boards often have a limited subset of features as compared to the retail version and the manufacturers often use the BIOS as means to tie the Windows install to that particular machine (use things like checksums, ID strings, etc). As a result, the upgrade potential for such a machine is diminished.

Also not all 946 support all Core2 CPUs...according to the Intel site the chipset specs support 800/1066 MHz chips...not 1333 (E8400)...so, it doesn't look like it.

Okies i fink i can't put the e8600 in it
