Hello...first time user..so be gentle with me....I just had installed windows 2000 2 weeks ago..no problems..then this morning no problem with my volume..and then this afternoon...NO Volume...no one was using the computer in the interm...I have checked all possible obvious problems...connections..and control panel..and device manager..and there is no conflicts...please let me know what to do!

On to your questions. You say volume, I assume you mean sound. Is your speaker in the taskbar? If so right click it open audio controls, go to properties and enable all the playback abilities of all the options in there. Try playing something. If it still doesn't work, try your speakers in the front of your CD player. If they work but you still don't have sound through the sound card, let us know, we'll try something else.

Hello creamcheesefrosting, Welcome to The PC Guide Forums. Got any carrot cake LOL.
What sound card and speakers do you have and dose it have a mixer utility and is anything muted or turned down all the way. Check to make sure your speakers are plugged in all the way and turned on. If your speakers have a power adapter is it plugged in to the AC outlet and the speakers.
