Hi everyone. This is a really cool site http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif-Wish I found it a long time ago! Anyway, I'm curious- What do you think is the ideal cache size to keep in Internet Explorer, and how often would you empty it? (Athlon 1Gig,20GB HD,768MB Ram. Thanks!

I have mine set to empty everything everytime exlporer closes, but thats cos im a paraniod git that hates temporary files and cookies. Also my comp is low spec.
I wouldnt really worry about it, leave it on default and it shouldnt do any harm. Just empty it regularily.

I'll echo balrog on this; with 20 GB's of space i wouldn't be real concerned about the default cache size-but if it makes you feel better set it to around 100 MB's, that's certainly plenty of space for the average web browsing session.
I have IE set to 0 on the cache, of course i rarely use IE-i use Opera (http://www.opera.com) to do my browsing, and it has a preference setting to empty the cache every time upon exit.

Balrog : Me too, on both the "paranoid git" and "low spec". Along with having IE empty the cache on exit, I also remember to click on Cookie Manager every day, or at least every other day, and have it delete all "unwanted" cookies. This is the one I am using that iisbob recommended. When you go to this page.. Cookie Manager (http://home.nordnet.fr/~pmdevigne/)..just click on English version..unless you can read French. I had some initial difficulty with it not actually deleting the cookies, but now I just click on the little icon and then click on arrow key that puts cookies over into "unwanted" section..and then close..and poof, "bad" cookies go bye bye, and the ones I want are saved. I was pleased recently to discover that after "updating" Hotmail settings, I didn't have to "save" a new cookie..Cookie Manager just automatically updated the cookie.
