I bought a new video card, ATI X1650 AGP Pro, for my rather outdated computer (P4, 3.2GHz). It had to be an AGP card because my motherboard doesn't support PCI express.
If anything, it degraded the performance of my computer, since CPU usage was high even on simple activities like surfing the web.
When I removed the new card and put back my old card, a Radeon 9600 Pro (the one that came out when your parents were in kindergarten), everything went back to normal.
I should mention the drivers for the new card were up to date.
Any ideas on why this happened?
