I was sent an email this morning that contained an attachment. When I clicked on the attachment I was asked to Download (I use Yahoo Mail and Windows XP) the attachment. When I clicked on Download, I got the following dialog:

What am I supposed to do in the control panel? I've never seen anything like this and I do not understand. Can someone explain this to me?

Umm...is this an expected attachment?

Both extensions are for Powerpoint/Powerpoint Show, but I don't know that the file should have two extensions.

I've seen it before but on a webpage.

It depicts a very muddy road in Russia where people starved and resorted to violence due to being stranded for weeks in the middle of nowhere with no food or water.

Yes, but the question still remains...was this an expected attachment.

Most of the time I've seen attachments with multiple file extensions they are infected. And, yes, even Yahoo's scanner can miss an infection every now and then...especially if the infection is new.

Well it appears that he was unable to download it which is a good thing if what you say is true. And I agree. Was this sent by a known party and is the attachment mentioned in the email?

Sorry guys, no, it was not an expected email, but it was from a friend.

.....and I finally got it to open in power point....and Fruss is right.

Thanks to all.
