Hi please help! I'm so thick when it comes to computers! my laptop's (acer aspire) screen is broken only lines of colour come up as a result of dropping it accidently, I have an external screen which i have tried plugging in but it does not automatically use the external screen. I know that to make it use the external screen i need to change the settings on control panel (not entirely sure of what exactlly to do there either) but the main problem is that i cant use the screen on my laptop at all to tell it to use the extrenal screen! Is there any way of forcing the laptop to use the external screen without using windows or the screen at all? an external button maybe? or do i need to take it to someone to fix it?
