Anybody have any recommendations for a freeware alarm clock program for XP?? I was watering the lawn today bypassing my sprinkler system's timer. I set the alarm clock on the stove to remind me to turn it off. I was wondering if there's something available for XP since I'm usually on my computer??
TIA

first hit for "alarm clock program"
check www.giveawayoftheday.com. I've seen 3 really recently. it's a shame you can't download programs from the previous days though.

Create a batch file called say alarm.bat in notepad and save as say C:\alarm.bat
The content of the batch file could be:
:TOP
start mplay32.exe /play /close C:\My Documents\My Music\SIREN1.WAV
sleep 10
GOTO TOP
Edit C:\My Documents\My Music\SIREN1.WAV and replace it with the path to any nice loud .WAV file of your choosing.
Control Panel >> Scheduled Tasks and Add new task. Browse to wherever you saved your batch file (eg C:\alarm.bat). Give the task a name. Choose Weekly. Put in the alarm time and enable the check boxes for the days of the week you want the alarm to run. Enter the user name. The user's password is usually needed unless you autologon without a password set at all.
You can enter the scheduled task's properties and change the settings or enable/disable the alarm as needed.
Make sure your speakers are enabled and test it out. When it runs you will need to close the task and any command prompt window that opens to stop the alarm from playing.
