The two games i would like to discuss

Far cry 2
COD 5: world at war

Far cry 2
Ok straight down to it
good points
-A first person shooter with a masssssive map
-Drive cars around until your heart is content
-The graphics are almost jaw dropping
-The game isnt as demanding as crysis
-If you like stalker you are more than likely going to like this
-The collectors edition comes with a t-shirt :D

bad points
-The physics are the worst thing ever (bring me cryengine2 any day)
-The actual aiming and firing of the weapons is useless
-The game gets repetitive
-The AI have the IQ of a goldfish and have waaaay to much health (one round from an AK-47 just about kills them...)
-The map is so lush with forest and you only have the choice of 3 cars and a truck
-The driving speed is unrealistic
-In the night the game is unplayable
-Unrealistic blood effects

On the whole the game is fun at first but if you are in to fast pasted FPS with hardcore fragging than stay away from this game, if you enjoyed assassins creed and the freedom of stalker go for it. There are many many other things i would like to say but i want to keep it short.

In all honesty i do regret buying this game

My system with all setting on ultra high 4x AA, 16x AF, 1680 x 1050 gets lows of 34 and highs of 70 averages out about 40-45fps outside

Gameplay : 7/10
Length : 8/10
Graphics : 9/10
Fun : 9/10 then after about 3 hours 6/10
Physics : 5/10
sound : 7/10
Overall : 7.1/10

COD 5: World at war (multiplayer beta)
omg were to start...

ok i know the game has not been released yet but i got my hands on a beta key and have found my new love :D
If you like COD 4 you will fall head over heals for this.

Maps - fantastically rendered, great looking, great strategic points
Weapons - very similar weapons to COD 2 but with the upgrade system like COD 5 Sniping on this game rules!!
Action - the whole feel of the game is exciting.

I have pre-ordered the game and now marking down the days on the calendar :D

Also due to it having the same engine as COD 4 the game is not very graphically demanding, but what they have done with it is mind blowing with all setting on high 4x AA, 16x AF 1680 x 1050 i get lows of 95 and highs of 250 averages out about 150-160fps

Gameplay : 10/10
Length : N/A
Graphics : 9/10
Fun : 9/10
Physics : N/A for online play
sound : 9/10
Overall : 9.25/10

any one have anything to add or different opinions?

I agree with you George. Many have said before the beta that cod5 will be a disaster but they were mistaken. Cod5 is an amazing game ,You have the singleplayer mode as standard with a very good storyline, you have the multiplayer action that is better than ever and also you have the co-o mode which offers a lot of fun and laughter with the zombie waves :]

Is you are a FPS fan this game is a MUST for you and i recommend it. You will not be disappointed :)

Thanks for the review. I have been a COD fan for some time and have been looking forward to 5. I was going to buy it but ended up getting Fallout3 instead. Will be getting it soon though.

Picked up COD5 last night and was just playing it for a few minutes. Very cool so far.

Just got to the ambush on the first level. Going out to get some breakfast right now and will play more later. :)

So far steady at about 45 FPS with everything on max with my 8800GT.

I guess I'm on the other side of the fence. I totally respect where you're coming from, both games have their up's and down's. However, when all is said and done, I wouldn't spend a dime for either of them.

I've never been a COD fan, so with that being said, COD 5 was just a big a flop as all the rest in my eyes. FarCry 2 was fun for a while, but failed to keep my attention...a bit too repetitive. Go on a mission, find some diamonds along the way, complete the mission and then get another. Blah!

Nevertheless, I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. Kick some butt!

Vader, what kind of games do you like?

You know, over the course of this past year, I've been asking myself that question a lot. With age, your taste changes, and to be honest...the FPS's don't hold me anymore. The story seems fixed. The outcome, already set...the only question is whether your skilled enough to conquer what the game throws against you.

My ideal type of game is D3. A game where the player can engage in the storyline, but at the same time, build a character and compete against other players. Unfortunately, many of these are MMO's and I simply dont have the cash for that these days. Good thing Diablo 3 is coming though, haha.

MMOs...the cyber-equivalent of opium dens.

Haha, never heard it described as that before. Very true.

Just finished COD5 earlier today. Loved it. The Nazi zombie board is pretty cool as well. Nice little bonus board.

Going back for more. :) I may actually get online with this one.
