hi all,
I've been running a 900 mhz duron on a pcchips 830lr mobo. This motherboard supports fsb frequencies of 200/266 mhz. Cpu frequency is set at 100 mhz with a mulitplier of 9x. I recently changed my pc133 sdram to ddr pc2100 memory. My old bios frequency setting for dram used to be 100mhz. My question: is it safe to change it to 133 mhz? will changing it make any noticeable improvements?
thanks all.. I appreciate it...

Yes it is safe to set the DRAM for DDR
PC2100 at 133. As that is what it was designed for.
Being backward compatable it will function set at 100.
The Duron will need to remain set at 100 on its
Bus Speed or it will fail to boot.
Depending on which BIOS version you have, if you
can run a split of 100/133/66/33 you will be
good to go.
Luck.

yikes!!
so i set my dram frequency to 133 mhz... now.. every now and then... i'm not able to reach the OS selection screen!! I never had this problem using dram at 100 mhz. What's up with this?? oh... I think the voltage went up a bit as well after i set dram to 133... is this a problem??

I would say that you are not running quality RAM, and one of the sticks has a borderline PC2100 rating (it is rated at 2100, but really should only be run at 1600....), so drop it back to 100.
