Howdy. Not really sure if this is a hardware or software issue, but maybe someone here can shed some light on this for me.
I've got a secondary monitor run through a VGA-to-USB adaptor. It generally displays things fine, however, in a particular program, the menus won't display if it's on the second monitor.
I've done some searching and suspect that it's related to video overlay issues, either this onboard video doesn't support it on a second monitor, or doesn't recognize the second monitor as a true monitor, since it comes in through the USB port.
I've also read of some Java issues where menus from programs on the secondary screen will pop up on the primary screen. This program is written in Java, so I suspect a similar issue is at work.
Can anyone confirm my suspicion or provide an alternative diagnosis? I doubt it's an issue that I can solve (I can't upgrade hardware or install new software), so what I'm really looking for is confirmation of what's happening and why. It's a work PC, so I'd like to be able to explain to these people what's wrong.
Using an Optiplex GX520 (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/optix_gx520?c=us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb) with Windows XP.
