I want to make a website in html. I know that you have to make a html file and then store it at some server so it's launched as a public site. But to store it at some server you have to pay the server? Are there some free servers to launch you websites? which do you recommend..
requirements:
- very reliable, so they don't go offline all of a sudden
- free, but no ads should be put on the website i make

if possible: (these are less important)
- fast loading of the website
- you can choose your own address name (not partly with the server address included)

anything else i should consider?

Netfirms (http://www.netfirms.com/) will host a free site if you don't mind one banner ad at the top of each page. Google for "free web host" to search for others.

A domain name (your own address name) can be used with both free and paid hosting and it is not expensive for most top level domains such as .com and so on. You can also grab/park a domain name with firms such as FreeParking (http://www.freeparking.co.uk/), which also let you set up a small simple website for free.

It is also possible to setup your own PC as a web server but it does have a learning curve and security implications. The domain name would still have to be purchased and you would need to have a static IP address from your ISP unless you are happy to use a virtual dynamic address server such as dyndns (https://www.dyndns.com/).

Go to host monster or lunar pages. I have a number of reliable pages there to include a very busy forum on lunar pages. Isn't much at all for registering a domain and host at either one. Host monster has built -in apps which are very handy in making html changes.
