I have one .avi file titled "The Battle for Algiers" and two separate .srt files for the .avi file. How would I go about merging the two .srt files? BTW, the end of the first .srt file does not coincide with the beginning of the second. Consequently, merging the files as they are now will cause the last 26 seconds of the first .srt file to be be repeated at the beginning of the second .srt file. I have several questions corresponding to correcting the problem so the second file begins when it should: 1) What is the best software to use to merge .srt files? 2) How do I go about determining how to correct the problem? I said approx 26 seconds but to tell the truth I don't really know how to determine exactly how many seconds of the second, or maybe the first, .srt need to be edited out.

I hope I have explained my problem so that it is readily understood. If not, please feel free to seek furthering information.

you could use something that edits movies and just combine the two. Windows Movie Editor can do that I think. linux distros will probably have programs that will work for free, but I know nothing more then that. If it was just combining two files, Super can do that with some messing around. Google Super (it's annoying to get to it, there is a link to the download on another thread here as well.)

I'd originally obtained "The Battle for Algiers" in two parts - CD1 & CD2 - with their corresponding .srt files. However, even then CD2's .srt file was out of whack. I joined the .avi files and was hoping to find an English language subtitles file, already joined into one file, that I'd be able to download. But no luck there.

Forum Members: Might anyone have a single subtitle-file, in English, for "The Battle of Algiers" they would be willing to share? Or have a link to a site where a single, English, subtitles file may be downloaded. Or have a solution to my 'editing/merging' dilemma?
