I enrolled into a small community college to bone up for A+ and Net+. When I enrolled, they were offering a CIT degree and a Networking diploma. However, due to disinterest, the Networking program has been shut down. All I get is 1 course, maybe a lab, and that’s it for networking:( .

I have a pretty good book and lab book for independent study, but limited experience in Networking. I want to pursue the Net+ certification on my own and continue with the college program to help me with my A+ (I need more practice with diagnosing and software at least before I take that).

I would like to know if there are other, or specific, guides I should look to and what I should study up on before I take the Net+. Any helpful suggestions from Net+ certified folks out there would be appreciated.

I used the deluxe Sybex book for Network+ certification training, it has training labs included with the book.
See this for how to obtain the material if not available locally:
