CPU upgrade question

I currently have a i440LX motherboard with an Intel 440LX/EX chipset and Intel Celeron 300 installed.

I wish to install an AMD K7-700. Can I just exchange the cpu's? If not, what is require to do so?

Well Mbeckett... The motherboard u have there is not compatable with an AMD processor. The design is not the same as an Intel processors.The only way that u can get the AMD processor to work is to change the motherboard... Either get a "Slot A" or "Socket A" mobo.
