I have a problem with the wireless network in my house. I recently started my laptop from hibernation and it said it was not connected to my wireless network (It was connected when I hibernated the laptop the night before). I reconnected using my secure network key and it now says it’s connected, but trying to obtain an IP address. I’ve tried the following remedies without success:

1. Power off and reset both the cable model and wireless router.
2. Remove the home network from the list of wireless networks on the laptop and have it reacquire and reconnect from scratch.
3. Reboot the laptop.

My laptop currently states that it is connected to my network and is obtaining an IP address, but won’t get past this point. Can anyone suggest something else to try?

The laptop is an HP Pavilion ZE2000, the wireless router is a NetGear Wireless G router model WGR614, v9.

Thanks

You may need to power cycle the router, and also update the firmware.

For my Linksys router, problems similar to those you describe are addressed first by removing the power plug from the router...count to 20 and reinsert the power supply. This is not the same as resetting the router which results in starting from scratch...

Also, I would check to see if there are firmware updates for your specific router...
