A Sound Concern...

We are members of a church that have begun to record our services to a computer using Adobe and EZ Tracker. The problem is we are taking the feed directly from the soundboard to the sound card on the computer. It is a built in model, the sound card is built into the motherboard. The problem is we have no volume control on the computer, and our sound guy is too busy to continue to monitor the levels. I have been told there may be a program I can load on the computer that will give me volume control. Does anyone have any Ideas? Thank you for your responce.

what are you recording per-say? I have a little expierience in recording in churches, and if it is just voice, you can take a look into Audacity. Depending on how much more you are recording (aka a worship team, or a larger kind of band and such) will depend on what you should look into getting.
