Monitor updates

This is a great resource site! I have a Maxtech Monitor distributed by Compusa(Windows 98). I went to their web site and downloaded an updated driver. But when I go into device manager and try to update my driver it only calls for an .inf file. I understand that is because monitors do not have drivers but the download I received from Maxtech lists the file as an executable mon.drv. Do I just execute the file in my desktop or do I even need this file? The manual with the monitor lists it as a plug and play. But I have problems changing resolutions and have a TNT2 Ultra 32mg card. Sorry for the long post. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Starbuck, thanks for the kind words.
Whoever set this up at Maxtech was a complete retard. That file is actually a zip, which contains an EXE, which contains an INF. A 10k INF, not exactly something demanding compression in the first place.
Rename the file to Mon_drv.zip, then open it using Winzip or similar. Extract Mon_drv.exe which is within, then run that.
