TFT or LCD

Hi wondering what would be best type for gaming TFT or LCD type. Whats the difference if any. Whats best specs to look out for. I require HDMI inputs and looking for around 26" size.

Please advise.

ok thanks but still a little bit confused, i neded a simpler answer. What wold you get.
With a TV LCD I can get freeview to and send my virgin media signal to it to, whereas a TFT LCD I cant.
