:confused: No gaming or overclocking involved just what to be sure everything will work for a budget build.already have a windows xp pro 32 bit oS and a 400W P/S.

already have a windows xp pro 32 bit oS and a 400W P/S.The only possible compatibility problem then will be your current PSU. It needs to be ATX 3.0 spec, at the very least. Modern mobo's require a 24-pin main ATX power connector. Without that, it won't even POST.

You can get an adapter for 20-pin-to-24-pin, but a new ATX 3.0+ spec PSU would be a better idea for the long run. Something like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171018).
