I have a silly question. I know there is a way to boot into safe mode and retain cd rom support. The reason for needing this of course is to be able to accss teh winders cd in order to reinstall windows files. Now, I know you can update the ios file. but, I alos have heard there is like 3 keys you can hold down and it will load your cd rom drivers in safe mode. Now, I have panned though microsoft's webesite, but haven't found anything. Maybe someone out there have heard of this trick, or knows a better place to look.
Any help would be appreciated.

Easiest solution: dump the CD to the hard drive before you reboot into Safe Mode.
Otherwise, not sure. I read somewhere about apparently there being a "CD-ROM support" menu item on the Windows 98 boot menu, but don't have a Win 98 machine handy to check.
Another option: load a DOS-mode driver and mscdex in autoexec.bat, that would work no?
