A substitute teacher turns on a PC just before the school day, porn popups start appearing, suddenly she is facing 40 years for subjecting students to porn:

Lucky for her a forensic specialist happened to get involved and the conviction is overthrown but her judgment is questioned and she had her teaching credentials lifted.

IMHO the whole case was a travesty of justice and should never have got past the preliminary hearings!!..

Debatably, there could have been a case against the IT pro's involved.. but even then it would be very difficult to prove negligence..

Sad day when people can get ruined for something like that!!..:(

Wow. You would think someone would investigate long before they just started throwing out accusations and filing charges.

It's a complete travesty and what comes to the fore is the pomposity and zeal of the school's IT folk (zeal so often has bad consequences) but it also makes one wonder if there was another sort of witch hunt going on against the defendant.

A improperly secured PC, an incompetent but egotistical IT department administrator.
A prosecutor running with a flawed analysis of what occurred trying for an "easy conviction", a prosecution "expert" who was not sufficiently vetted as to his reliability and whose testimony was not properly challenged by the defense. The higher Courts should sanction both of them for their misconduct.

The defendant got run over by the system.

Should have countersued the prosecution and papers for character defamation. Too bad she probably can't now, since she accepted the plea.
