Just saw this on a new type of security program coming in 2009 for laptops from Lenovo:

Put very simply, you link up to 10 cellphones to the PC. If the PC gets stolen, you send a message from one of the registered cellphones to the laptop and it "bricks" the laptop. Now I can imagine the agony where someone sends the message and soon finds the laptop still in their car or business, just where they forgot it.
