ok i really did it this time..... screwing around with my monitor display setting..... i have a vga/ega monitor and i change my settings to 1024*786
now the monitor is distorted and i cant see to change the settings back...... so the question is how do i get it back to the right settings

im assumming i have to go though dos possible win.ini but i have no clue on how to change it through dos or where to go ~~~~~~~~ dos 6x

Just reboot in safe mode. That will load a vanilla video setup, and let you restore the settings.
(When you see "Loading Windows..." hit the F8 key. Then select Safe Mode from the menu.)
