Hi all,

I've been having two problems which I think are inter-related. I've searched all over the internet for solutions to both, but to no avail.

1. My Windows wireless does not recognize ANY wireless networks. I've used Windows to manage my connections but now have since switched to Intel's proprietary software to do so. That software recognizes all the networks that Windows should.

I have no idea what happened or how to fix this problem. I've tried uninstalling the card via the device manager, but to no avail.

2. When booting up, the "Windows is starting up" screen takes longer than normal. This problem started happening recently, but I can't figure out why. I recently played around with disabling some unnecessary services, but have since reset them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can post a HJT log if you need to see it.

Sudden loss of wireless connectivity is often a sign of a firewall problem...what one are you running?

What version of Windows?

Do you do AutoUpdate? if so what updates ran recently...any/all programs.

I simply use the Windows Firewall.

I'm running XP SP3.

I do autoupdate, but I select which updates to install. Nothing came through that looked fishy that would cause a conflict.

By way of further update, sometimes the Windows system tray icon "acts" as if it is trying to find a network connection, but then indicates that there are no wireless networks available.

You may want to temporarily disable the firewall...also post a HijackThis (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=60009) log.
