Hello: I would like to use the winkey+L to temporarily lock my pc.
What I wanted to know is, if I do that, how can I delete the password and not use it anymore? PS: I dont use fast switching either and am the only one using this pc at this timeThanks

What OS? I'm presuming XP, tell me otherwise, just go to the Control Panel>User Accounts> Change an Account> (Whatever your account name is)> Delete Password. If that doesn't help, put up a screen shot so I can see what you are doing.
Plus, if you lock your PC, and then you want to get back in, assuming you don't have a password enabled, just type in your user name (if it is not already there) and leave the password field blank and log in. Should work fine.

ShooterColeman:
I am using xp home edition oem, I guess I am getting a little confused here.
I dont have an administrative password set up and I dont want one as yet, I am the only one using this pc.
If I use the Winkey+L to temporarily lock the pc (just a test) does it automatically create a administrative password?
I was told I could go into the screen saver settings and on the "On Resume Password Protect" Uncheck that box and the Winkey+L password would not be needed anymore, is this correct?? Thanks

Using the winkey+L will not create a password, only you can do that through the control panel.
Without a password you are not locking the computer. All one would have to do is click on the user icon to get back into the desktop.

Again, if you don't have a password it makes no difference if that box is checked or not. If you do have a password set clearing this box will mean you will not have to enter a password when the system goes into screen saver mode or when it goes into standby or hibernate. But, if you lock the system manually using win+L you will need a password to get back to the desktop providing you have a password setup. If you don't have a password then as I said above all you need to do is click on the user icon.

In addition, Winkey+ L only switches your user. The screen opens up your welcome screen, where you can select the account you want to log in. As Jlreich said, you can only set up a password through control panel. What Jlreich said. :)
