Spam mail sent by you is almost certainly not sent by you but has been spoofed by the spammer. The headers could be examined to deduce this if you wanted.

If spam is a major problem consider www.gafana.com. I have a few very happy clients.

From memory running on-line scans like housecall can take ages, especially the first time, so perhaps all you need is patience.

Thanx Paul. How does one examine the headers?

Accessing the headers differs slightly from client to client. What do you use to read/download your emails? In Thunderbird, for example, you simply expand the + beside the subject and ensure that the View Menu, Headers SubMenu has All selected.

After that you basically read upwards all the "received from" stamps with the bottom one or two indicating the IP address of where the message originated from.

It isn't always easy to decipher till you get used to it because different sending agents do things differently.

Google might help (http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=decipher+email+headers&btnG=Google+Search&meta=) or at least tell us what you are reading your emails with and we can take it from there.

I am useing BT as my ISP and MS New Mail for emails. IT is an upgrade from OE. I can check origination with New MaiL, but it is BT that does not offer much re checking or blocking spam at its source.

Thanks...

It's always a double-edged sword when email servers block or mark mails as spam because none of the providers get it 100% correct. Thus there will always be a certain number of false positives with necessary/valid emails being completely blocked or else shifted into a junk mail folder. Conversely, some spam can nearly always get through the filters.

iHateSpam (http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Home-Home-Office/iHateSpam/)has had some good reviews though I am not familiar with it and wouldn't use Outlook or Outlook Express.
