Hello:

I am currently going to school for my MCSE and was cast as the IT Administrator most recently. I do not know very much about wiring and cabling, so here is my question. (I hope I am on the right forum)

We have (2) separate wires coming in from Verizon DSL. The first wire goes directly into the DSL router and is terminated by a RJ-45 connection. This wire comes from a panel on the wall labeled "25"

The second wire coming in from Verizon DSL goes directly to the patch panel
which obviously ends in a RJ-45 connection. This one comes from a part of the panel on the wall labeled "D".

Then the other DSL router has a RJ-45 connection from its DSL port to the patch panel.

My question is: Is there wiring on the patch panel between this last DSL router's connection and the wire labeled "D"? And why is it done this way?

We do have phones that work on Intuitive Voice Technology and an Evolution PBX server. This server connects directly to the patch panel with (2) RJ-45 connections.

Please Help!!
