hello everyone
having problem with pc, will not go into safe mode or anyother mode, when i restart computer the windows advanced option menu comes up and whatever one i click on it comes up to a blue screen, it will not go back into windows at all.

technical information on blue screen. stop: 0x000007B (0xF7b40528,0xc000000E,0x00000000, 0x00000000) i have researched the problem and have not found the exact error, i would scan for virus if i can get into the computer to do this., whichever option i pick a blue screen appears. it mentions a chkdsk/f, but unable to check drive for damage.
what to do

This error is one that crops up when moving Windows from one machine to another...can you provide a little background info about the error, what was done before it started, etc?

If you have access to another machine grabbing a copy of UBCD4Win (http://www.ubcd4win.com/) should allow you to at least scan with chkdsk...

But, if this happened while downloading movies, I suspect there is malware involved or file system corruption, so chkdsk may not be much help. There are AV plugins for the UBCD4Win that you may want to activate during the build process.

Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop 0x0000007B" errors in Windows XP (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324103).

As a start...
If the PC includes a FDD:
Try using this Windows NT 4.0, 2000, XP or Server 2003 boot floppy disk (http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/ntboot/) to load the installation held in the HDD Windows folder.
The floppy acts as a substitute system drive to load the files on the HDD boot partition.
I think this would by-pass any HDD boot-sector virus; write-protect the floppy.

If it fails to produce any improvement, it at least tells you that the problem is at a later stage in Startup.
