I noticed that obviously this isn't a very big gaming section. But are we allowed to discuss modding here. Such as flashing, xbox exploits, hardware mods, controller hacks, ect.?

Not so much 'not allowed' as it is we stick to more basic problems such as "it's crashing...HELP!!!"

There are lots of other forums that do deal with those things in much more detail than we ever could, here...

I sure hope we at least discuss PC gaming! Obviously, I'm a new member here but as long as there is one other person in this forum that wants to talk PC games, I'm down for the ride.

Just to note, I'd be careful about what you discuss openly about downloads/flashing/etc. More of a respect thing for the forum leaders than anything else.

You can discuss just about anything you want, but here on the forums we stop where the law starts. ;) If it's illegal or violates a EULA, not OK. Everything else, sure!

I'm currently mod'ing FO3 (Fallout 3) myself. (Well... using the released construction set - nothing like customizing meshes.) I've also mod'ed Oblivion. I was thinking of trying out Morrowind, too. :p You know, round out the whole Bethesda repertoire. Haha! :D

have any of you tried to mod Halo for PC? I want to mess around a little in that aspect just to keep up with those who already did... or just to have some fun in multiplayer...

After an absolutely horrible experience with the original Halo for PC, and the subsequent demonic banishment of the CD, I have vowed never again to touch another Halo game unless a shiny X is viewable on the computer system running it. ;)

So no, I am afraid I cannot help you. :p

Just playing on my newly built system... I've been doing things I know aren't possible in the X-Box game and I've been doing things I haven't been able to do mainly to my hardware acceleration capabilities compared to my laptop.

I'm getting Halo 2 for PC just to see if the difference is noticeable there too...

Saphalline, was your experience with the online play or something with in the game? I've tried both on my laptop and it ran decently. (now I have my desktop, I'm never going back to my laptop for gaming... =D)

was your experience with the online play or something with in the game?Halo for PC was the worst sort of port. It should be a "bad port" poster child! It was horrible to play!

is the GECK easy to use?Once you get to know it, the G.E.C.K. is very cool.

Until then, go through the tutorial on how to use it on the official FO3 site. It will take a few hours to really be proficient with it, though.

well, Halo 2 for PC is a let down at the moment... I need to get a better graphics card otherwise it draws too much power from my computer... What's the best program to use to get into game modding?

hmm? the best ones for modding are the "official" ones made by the company that produced the game in question...

though, you could use 3ds max, blender, or other such IF YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING
