Hi everyone. I need help with a problem connecting to the internet. The wireless connection is ok and the signal is strong, but I can`t open any web pages. The win xp firewall is allowing the connection. I`ve been checking and un-checking boxes allday. I tried to system restore, but that will only give me a restore point for today.
Thank`s. Tom.

Paul's suggestion could be helpful.
I would turn off the firewall and see if you can connect....

Thank`s for the help folks. I have now hardwired the connection and it`s working fine. I did however try and wireless connect another pc, but although it found the main wireless it would only get as far as aquiring network address and not connect. I will start a thread later in the week for this problem and post the ipconfig results.
thank`s again and Happy New Year.
Tom.

Sounds like you need to provide a WPA or WEP key or turn off wireless security in the router temporarily.
