Here is my current configuration:
Linksys RangePlus Wireless Router - WRT110
We have my desktop with a line directly from it, and two laptops running wireless off of it. One is a HP Pavilion dv6000, and the other is a Mac. The Mac never drops the signal. But the HP is constantly dropping the signal. When the HP has connection, it is usually at least half signal strength, but mostly full. When it drops the signal, it is just for a second or two, then connects back. Even more frustrating is, sometimes it will drop the signal while I am sitting right beside the router, less than five feet from it. Is there any way I can stop this from happening? It blows my mind that the Mac never drops signal but the HP does, often. Are there some settings or something I need to change? Thanks for any help. let me know if you need anymore info about the setup.

Check for updated drivers for the HP...

Anything specific? Or just drivers for the wireless card? Thanks.

The ones for the wireless card...

Also, what firewall are you running?

I am running Avira AV, I think it is running a firewall as well. How do I check that? Thanks.

Is it the free version or one of the pay versions of Avira?

Then, no it doesn't include a firewall. So you are probably running the built in Windows one?

A list of what is running at start up may be helpful...HijackThis can be used for that. So post a log here (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=60009)...
