I wasn't paying enough attention when installing WIN XP. I did think it odd that there was nothing listed on the welcome page but the administrator account but foolishly put the pc into use. :o It crashed without explanation and when I got it up and running again, the account was gone. I established a user account but have no way of regaining the file which were on the original account. I read that you can get the account to display by going into the registry but as this would be a temporary access, is there another way to get to the files? The unit crashed with an odd message about something (video?) being out of sync and the USB would not work. Using a PS2 mouse and keyboard, I got everything back to normal, I think

If you log off completely you may have an option to enter using the Administrator account. If not then reboot to a SafeMode boot (F8 during startup).

The files are, by default, kept in the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator tree.

Thanks for the information. I did go to the folder mentioned but didn't see what I needed. Right now it's irrelevant as the video on the pc crashed again.
