Hi all.

I see that MS has released a beta of Windows 7 for people to try out. I imagine it is time-locked etc, being a beta, but has anyone else played with MS's latest offering yet?

I honestly have been meaning to give it a play but I've just been so busy with other things that I haven't had time.

I'm hoping by this weekend my schedule clears up.

I know this is totally off topic(hopefully mods won't mind this once), but great signature. My sister is a feminist in a big way, and she actually woke me up to "Women can do anything men can" which I think is true. I'm not sure how many female members we have here at PC Guide, but please do stick around - we need more women in the technical trade.

I had a female "Apprentice" for a while, until she moved onto other things - she went to study law - must have been more money in that! ;)

Also had a female "Friend of a friend" who wanted to learn mechanics, but could not get trained(i think she lacked certain entry qualifications), and as I am the guy in my circle of friends who loves to strip and re-build engines and boxes(transmissions) etc, I helped her soup-up her car. She paid for it all, but I just offered help on how to do things. As I was the first time, she was very uneasy about installing piston-rings and putting the assembled pistons/rods back in the cylinder bores, as rings are VERY easy to snap if you are not careful, and they are expensive, so it's always a kind of anxious moment. But she basically rebuit the whole engine herself(although I did the box - she could not be convinced to do it, and I suppose that is fair enough - stripping mainshafts is not for everyone!), and also did the engine-box replacement in the car by herself, with me only there to help out. I was very proud of her for doing all that, as literally NO other women before or since have ever wanted to get into mechanics.
