Software installed on XP will not run on Vista HP SP1

Hey, i have just recently installed vista on a second partition (20 gig) on my hard drive, now i want to run every program installed on the XP partition without having to reinstall everything using vista, is this possible?

200GB HDD (180GB XP pro Service pack 3, 20GB vista Home Premium Service Pack 1)
3GB Ram
512 Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT

It will be very hit and miss with the majority of programs not working unless formerly re-installed within Vista. There are some executables that will run but they will mainly be simple programs that require simple or no registry entries. The whole Vista security is an additonal layer of complexity that is likely to affect things unless the installation has been done in a formal manner and the installation files run from certain locations - notably Vista's own Program Files Folders etc. Other software will not run in Vista even if formerly installed since not all software that is WinXP compatible is Vista compatible.
