My HD is in FAT mode right now and i want to convert it to FAT32, I have windows98 and know about the auto convert thing but can it hurt abything on my comp and is it just a matter of selecting the auto convert option and let it run? I don't have any compression software

You can go ahead and auto-convert to FAT32 the way you said and it shouldn't hurt anything already installed. I done it several times without problem, but if you have any special files you absolutely can't do without, back them up first on floppies or CDs if you have a burner. Better safe than sorry... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif It will take some time though, and I'd recommend closing all unnecessary programs in the system tray (disable any that won't close, especially antivirus software!) and also disable your screensaver while you're converting.
Hope this helps!
