My Internet Browsers (IE & Firefox) won't load any pages, help please

My HP laptop running on Vista, is connected to the internet. I open iTunes and I can access the iTunes store. But any time I try to open Internet Explorer or Firefox, no webpage will load! Anyone know what I can do?

What messages are the browsers giving you?

What sort of internet connection?

Any firewalls enabled and running?
