Hi guys.

Last week my system wouldnt post - 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps - which I think is a parity problem and was confirmed by the little LCD on the mobo showing DET DRAM.

I tested the ram in another system and it wouldnt post - 1 continuous beep.

Anyway, i bought some new ram to get me through until corsair replace mine with their lifetime warranty. However, today my system locked up so I reset it and rebooted at which point within a minute or two it locked up again.

I reset and awaited reboot at which point I got a HIGH PITCH continuous tone - I entered the bios and watched the ram voltage continue to climb - at 2.7v I switched off at the wall in an attempt to save my PC from the innevitable puff of smoke!!!!

Can anyone tell me what they think - Its working OK now at the moment.

Many thanks for any input.

Test your PSU.

It's also possible, probably more likely from the description, the voltage regulator or something effecting it is bad on the board.

Look for bulging or blown caps on the board.
